Our story so far

When we set up Benchmark we made a conscious decision to remain small enough to offer a highly personalised service, so you get to talk to the directors and producers rather than an account manager, which often results in a dilution of the brief. We bring over 35 years of combined experience, which means that you’re dealing with professionals who have a clear goal to:

Our key team

Mark Roberts – Managing Director, has extensive experience in business development and producing multi-platform media. His meticulous attention to detail and processes ensures that projects are run efficiently and to budget. He brings 15 years experience of Senior Production and Media Operations Management from start-up businesses to global PLC level. “My goal and passion in everything I do is to raise the bar when it comes to customer communications, and set a new benchmark for delivering multi-sensory visual media that embodies the true ‘essence’ of a luxury brand.”

Simon Steel – Strategic Brand Consultant, brings 25+ years experience in strategic marketing and communications. He specialises in delivering integrated offline/online marketing solutions across all digital media to leverage the overall brand experience. He has held positions as Director of Global Branding for a major public global Internet corporation in the USA, as well as VP of Sales & Marketing within an international UK based advertising group. "It's all about articulating the unique characteristics and integrating them into all customer communications to evoke the right response by using a little creative magic!"

 

Simon Edwards – Director, has considerable experience working in a variety media and formats from 35mm short-films and HD corporate productions, to web and new media projects. He adds a diverse and impressive client list, including: SagePay/Protx (part of the Sage software group), CPA Global, British Telecom, BT/Microsoft, Budweiser and Land Rover. “As someone who loves drama, I bring the idea of storytelling to all my work. Even for the big multi-national brands, I believe it’s important to combine strong emotive visuals and narrative to communicate effectively to the audience on a personal level.”

 

George Miller – Director, has more than 10 years experience working closely with high profile brands including: Rolex, BT, Volvo and HSBC turning internal initiatives into compelling and arresting visual campaigns. “It’s vital to me that every film I produce is tailored specifically to the client and their audience – this means working as closely as possible to deliver a genuine brand experience. It’s critical to involve the client throughout the process and I’m driven by the desire to create pieces that convey message and meaning, however complex, in the most natural, stunning and evocative way.”

 

Stewart Read - Director/Cameraman, brings 25 years of production experience along with an impeccable work ethic. He has collaborated on multiple high-profile projects for household brands, among them: BMW, Sony Music, BBC, ITV, The Observer and Syco (Simon Cowell’s successful business). “The deep rooted desire to create authenticity in my work is also my commercial imperative. I am lauded for putting the budget on the screen using cost effective, cutting edge new workflows to create compelling content that has a tangible, positive effect on the bottom line and brand reach for each client.”

 

Christian Saunders – Graphic Designer/Photographer, brings 15 years experience and an award-winning track record in motion and graphic design. He has worked within different countries and cultures around the world, and is respected for his ability to bridge complex commercial and creative requirements. “I hold a firm belief that great design is effective design – it’s work that carries the brand values and messages of the client to their customer. My passion is delivering an experience and essence of a brand in a way that generates a positive, lasting, emotional response with the target customer.”
